Eric Jimenez, Heights HS Band Director of Houston ISD, attended the 2016 TMEA Urban Music Summer Dialogue in Austin, TX. 20 music educators from all over the state in every content area provided suggestions for new teachers, shared ideas to improve their programs and acknowledged cultural tendencies that exist in their respective areas. TMEA plans to continue this conversation across the state to ensure all programs are receiving the assistance needed to provide students a high-level arts experience.
